We are seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and leading high-performing teams. This role will be instrumental in establishing and scaling the revenue cycle function, overseeing all aspects of claim submissions, payment posting, denials & appeals, and overall revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deep expertise in reimbursement and billing, and a passion for improving processes to enhance efficiency and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the revenue cycle team, overseeing insurance verification, claims processing, payment posting, and denial management.
  • Manage both internal staff and outsourced RCM vendors, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to improve revenue cycle processes and payer reimbursement strategies.
  • Partner with the SVP of Market Access on provider credentialing, payer contract administration, and payer analytics.
  • Work closely with the Controller to analyze reimbursement trends, manage carrier exceptions, and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all claims to responsible payers, maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of revenue cycle management experience in healthcare, with a strong preference for laboratory settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of billing, coding, reimbursement, and compliance regulations within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience leading teams, including supervision of claim submissions, payment posting, and denial management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Experience managing outsourced RCM vendors preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and proactive communication style.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
